Namco hit off the now-famous Tekken fighting game franchise with the self-titled first installment in the arcades all the way back in 1994. The following year players could bring the excitement of this polygon-fighting game back home to the first-gen Sony Playstation. One of the locations in the game features the temples of Angkor Wat, the Bayon gate and others merged together in a wide background collage. But the image quality of the photographs used must not have been that great, as the main Angkor image is rather textureless, too dark and taken in harsh lighting.
Another fighting game that uses Angkor Wat in its background imagery is SNK Gals’ Fighters on the Neo Geo Pocket Color.
